SOPA?
It's hard to explain completely, so looking up the actual SOPA law that wasn't passed would be the best thing to understand what it was.

Haha it basically restricted fans quite a bit due to strict ownership/copyright... It's much more than that, but that was what a lot of people were upset about - or at least the gist of it.
